Evan Gianfriddo is a versatile freelance musician based out of Woodstock, Connecticut. He is a multi-instrumentalist with a B.A. in music from Eastern Connecticut Sate University. He is an experienced and highly competent musician at both guitar and electric/upright bass, making contributions to the New England music scene on both instruments.
Evan has performed at dozens of venues across New England in his short time as a gigging musician. He is both a sideman and band leader for many local ensembles. He has great experience in live music which ranges from jazz trios, combos, and jam sessions, to hip-hop and funk bands, and pits for musical theatre productions. While in his undergrad Evan led ECSU’s Jazz Combo for 3 years and began teaching. Evan is current an educator at Summit Music Center in Manchester CT, as well as a freelance practice. He provides individual and group lessons in guitar, bass, music theory, jazz improvisation, as well as audio engineering and production. He also works as a sound engineer for The Stomping Ground, a popular live music venue in Putnam CT.
In 2023, his group STATTIC won WHUS’s Battle Of The Bands at the University of Connecticut which has lead to them playing many large events and festivals around New England. While Evan is still young he is already making a career out of music, whether it be playing shows regularly, teaching, or audio engineering. He is currently working to grow his groups to play more events and reach a wider audience.
